Mauvleen Eloise Stasik nee: Hardeman
April 13, 1925 – July 9, 2017
It is with great sadness that the Stasik, Delp, and Esker families announce the passing of their mother, Mauvleen Eloise Hardeman Stasik, on Sunday, July 9, 2017. Mauvleen was born in Huntsville, Alabama, the beloved daughter of Lily Mae Thomas and Ernest Clyde Hardeman. She was a talented photographer, taking society portraits in Chicago ballrooms and serving her country as a darkroom technician at Redstone Arsenal during World War II. After the war, she married Eugene Stasik of Chicago and, during the 1960’s, owned a record store in the Old Town neighborhood. She was blessed with two devoted children, Guy Edward (Victoria) and Lily Frances (Richard), as well the chance to watch four grandchildren – Grant (Amy), Heidi (Will), Rachel (Camren), and Claire – grow to adulthood. She was especially proud of her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Henry Holden, Luke, Allan, Rose, Faith, Hailee, and Hayden, all of whom share her beauty, intelligence, and goodness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 13, at the Community Church of Wilmette, 1020 Forest Avenue, Wilmette, Illinois. She will be interred with her husband Eugene and mother at Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago.
