Michael Stanley Milcarek, age 67 of Bartlett, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 2:20 A.M. at the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital. Michael was born on November 5, 1949 in Sterling, Illinois to the union of Lee and Caroline (Milcarek) McGraw. He attended St. Bede High School and went on to study World History at St. Louis University. After college, Michael traveled the globe working for Westin Hotels. It was while working in Madrid where Michael met his former wife and mother of his children. In 1977 he moved back to the states to raise a family and start a lifelong, successful career in real estate. In 2004, Michael met the love of his life and wife of 13 years, Cathleen Carroll.
Michael was the kindest, most optimistic, and warmhearted man you could ever meet. He loved people and would never hesitate to help anyone in need. No matter what the circumstance you could always count on him and he expected nothing in return. He was a selfless man who had a way of making everyone feel special and his heart was always so full of love. Above all else, he loved his family: his wife Cathleen, his children and grandchildren. He was so proud of his family and took every opportunity to let people know it.
To Michael everyday was a blessing and he will be missed more than words can express. He will be remembered always in the hearts of everyone who knew him for his positive spirit, selflessness, supportive nature, and his willingness to help anyone and everyone.
Michael is survived by his wife Cathleen Carroll, son Alex Milcarek, daughter Melina Milcarek, stepdaughter Caitlin Markoya, grandson Riley Markoya and brothers William, Peter and Timothy Milcarek.
