Kaitlyn Krastev Obituary

Kaitlyn Marie Pellettiere Krastev
March 14, 1998 - March 31, 2024

CELEBRATION OF LIFE

Our beloved Katie - devoted wife, granddaughter, daughter, sister, cousin, and friend. Katie impacted everyone she knew with her contagious smile, big personality, and pure love.  Katie was unapologetically herself, and she dedicated her life to lifting others up.  We are crushed by our loss.  We will never forget her fiery and beautiful spirit.

Most importantly, Katie loved her husband Tino and their French Bulldog Oppie.  Katie and Tino met during high school through their involvement in the Grayslake North High School theatre department.  Upon meeting Tino, they intertwined their lives immediately and were inseparable.  They carried this love into college where Katie graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin while Tino attended college in nearby Milwaukee.  Katie and Tino married July 9, 2022, but were truly married in their lives before then.

Katie deeply loved and cared for all of her students (especially her English Language Learner friends), and her passion was to watch them excel in the classroom and in life.  Katie loved her plants, knitting, reading, lifelong learning, tea, donuts, and especially spending time with her family and friends.  Katie always strived to bring everyone together and ensured that everyone felt included and comfortable to be themselves around her.

Katie fiercely fought for her passions and dreams in life.  Katie loved her students, fellow teachers and mentors, and spending time with Tino and Oppie.  Katie loved to travel and recently spent two weeks in Bulgaria connecting with Tino’s family and culture.  Katie loved her family and friends more than anything in the world and would do anything for them.
