Peter Anthony Dwyer passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 in Park Ridge, Illinois. He was born February 12, 1950 in Mandeville, Jamaica, to the late Isaac Nathaniel and Isolene Agatha Dwyer.
Peter relocated from Jamaica to Evanston, Illinois in 1969. Upon his arrival to the U.S, Peter began working in the construction industry. During this time, his gift of building was ignited. He thoroughly enjoyed working with his hands. Peter is credited for constructing some of Cook and Lake County’s most prominent homes and structures that still remain. He retired in 2014 after dedicating nearly 45 years to the business.
Peter was adored by many. His infectious personality, quick wit and jovial disposition will forever be admired and remembered.
He leaves to treasure his memory, one son, Omar (Ayesha) Dwyer; his grandchildren, Noah Kingston and Naomi Kimora Dwyer; his brothers, Byron (Mary) Dwyer and Vidal Dwyer; three sisters, Elfreda (Roy) Burey, Estella (Easton) Wallace and Bevera Dwyer. Peter was the beloved uncle to several nieces and nephews. Many friends within the Evanston and Waukegan communities will forever embrace his memory.
Peter was preceded in death by his loving parents, Isaac Nathaniel and Isolene Agatha Dwyer; one brother, Caswell Dwyer; two sisters, Kardell Elizabeth Forbes and Christine Jacas, and one nephew, Gregory Burey.
A celebration of life service will be held, Saturday, March 9, 2019 – 12:00 pm at the Seguin-Symonds Funeral home, 858 Sheridan Rd. Highwood, Illinois. Visitation will precede the service at 11:00 am.
