Stefano Carani, 79, of Highland Park, IL passed away December 13, 2018 at the Aperian Care Center of Highwood, IL, he was born September 6, 1939 in Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, Stefano was the oldest of two born to the union of Angelo & Irma Carani. Steve came to the United States in October 1967 after the marriage to his wife Valerie Gualandri, Steve was a cabinet maker and worked for over 32 years for Highland Park Millworks, after his retirement in 2001 he went on to spend his time caring for his grandchildren and his fruit trees.
Steve is survived by his wife of 51 years Valerie Gualandri Carani of Highland Park, IL, his children; Dennis (Isa) Carani of Deerfield, IL, Robert Carani of Highland Park, IL and Sondra (William) Higel of Highland Park, IL, his cherished grandchildren; Cristian & Daniella Carani, and Samantha & Jason Higel, his nieces Loredana (Angelo) Ori, and Ellen Picchietti, and many great nieces, great nephews, and cousins, preceded in death by his parents Angelo & Irma Carani, and his sister; Paola (the late Aldo) Picchietti
