Arnold B. Toni age 101 of Highland Park passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Aperion Care, Highwood. He was born April 5, 1919 in Zooksper, Iowa to the union of Domenico and Marianna (Guiducci) Toni. The family returned to Minozzo, Italy when Arnold was 2 and he grew up there till the age of 18 when he came to Highwood, IL. Arnold served in the U.S. Navy in World War II on the USS Lake Champlain, patrolling the East Coast. He graduated from Lake Forest College after the war with a degree in Accounting. After returning home from the war he started his accounting business in 1951 where he has been a pillar of the Highland Park/Highwood community. Arnold was a member of St. James Church, Highwood where he served as an usher for decades. the former Highwood VFW, the Highwood American Legion and the oldest and longest serving member of the Modenesa Society.
Beloved husband of the late Laura nee: Amidei. Devoted father of Mary Ann (Jim) Crossman of San Diego, CA and Arnold B. Toni, Jr. of West Chicago, IL. Fond grandfather of Elisa Crossman and Jessica Crossman (Ryan Murtha). Great grandfather of Aurora Suter-Crossman. Dear brother of the late John Toni, late Fred Toni, late Lucia Toni, Maria Casini of Italy, late Mario Toni and the late Eugenio (Elena) Toni. Fond uncle of many.
A comital service was held on Monday, June 8, 2020 10:00 A.M. at All Saints Cemetery Interment Chapel, 700 River Road, Des Plaines, IL Officiating Rev. JoAndre Beltran, pastor of St. James Church, Highwood officiating. Interment followed in the family plot.
