Ernest Parker, 73, of Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2020 at his home surrounded by his children. He was born on June 10, 1946 in Chicago and was the youngest of four children born to Ernest and Isabelle (Carter) Parker. He graduated from Holy Angels Catholic Elementary School and Corpus Christi (now known as Hales Franciscan) High School.
On September 5, 1971, Ernest married Linda L. Fedrick and went on to raise four children – Trinanein, Asunta, Darius and Keon. He and his wife were married for twenty-nine years.
Ernest alternated between working in the banking industry and being a stay-at-home father. While raising his children, he wrote un-published science fiction novels and other fictional stories. Being a parent and grandparent gave him the greatest sense of pride and he poured everything into instilling love, values, and character into his children and grandchild. He was an avid reader and loved sharing interesting facts about a variety of subjects. He had a soft spot for rescue dogs. Ernest was deeply spiritual and reflective and drew upon this during some of life’s most challenging moments.
Ernest is survived by his children and their spouse: Trinanein (Yildiray), Asunta, Darius; his granddaughter, Angelina; his sister, Myra; his nieces Joyce and Andrea; his nephews Michael, Gary, Jan, Jr., Prentice, Jr. and Matthew; a host of grand nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Isabelle; his former spouse, Linda; his infant son, Keon; his sister Barbara; his brother Jan; and his niece, Patrice.
There will be a private service for the family.
