Barbara Teresa Grubb nee; Pulczynski, 78, of Wildwood, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 23, 2024. She was born May 5, 1945, in Rzeszow, Poland, and was the second daughter born to the union of Waclaw and Stanislawa Pulczynski. While in Poland, she attended a trade school, which enhanced her love for sewing. Barbara immigrated to the United States with her parents in 1965. In 1974, she married her beloved late husband, Albert A. Grubb. The two enjoyed a blessed marriage of twenty-three years, filled with camping, skiing, and traveling, especially to Door County. She was a seamstress at Osterline Tailors of Lake Bluff for over 30 years and an additional 10 years at Zengeler Cleaners in Libertyville. Barbara’s greatest passion in her later years was spending time with her family and attending countless sporting events and activities with them.
Barbara is survived by her sister; Stella (Martin) Rohleder of Wildwood, the late Loren Romanet of Milwaukee, and the late Elizabeth (Tadeusz) Orwinski of Johnsburg, her nieces; Lisa (Ronald Jr.) Freeman of Gurnee, Sherida (Cory) Love Lusk of McHenry, Barbara (Franklin) Been of Morgantown, WV, Sarah (Jonathan) James of Johnsburg, and Samantha (Michael) Horowicz of Johnsburg, great nieces and great nephews; Patricia & Lucy Freeman, Everett, Henry, & Christopher Love Lusk, Bradley & Brayden Been, Raphael, Leonardo, & Ella James, Abel & Grace Horowicz.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 10:00 AM until mass time at 11:00 AM at Saint Gilbert Catholic Church, 301 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL. Fr. Robert Beaven will officiate. Private interment will be held at Saint Adalbert Catholic Cemetery, Niles, IL. The Symonds Lakes Funeral Home of Grayslake was entrusted with arrangements.
